There has been an increase in incidents related to school going children for a while now. The latest incident comes to light from Chandivali area of Mumbai where a 6-year-old school boy died after he collapsed in his school premises on Thursday morning.

As per reports, Swarang Dalvi, a Class 1 student of Pawar Public School in Chandivali was playing with his friends during short break outside his classroom when he suddenly collapsed. Soon after Swarang’s classmate informed the school authority about the incident, he was taken to the medical room of the school. When he wasn’t responding, the doctor suggested the school authority to take him to the nearly hospital. When taken to the Hiranandani hospital, Swarang was declared dead on arrival.

The school authority said that the incident shocked them as the child was fine in the morning and had no medical history.

“We are shocked and saddened. He was playing with other children outside their classroom when he collapsed. We took him to a hospital immediately,” said Dr Madhura Phadke, Principal of Pawar Public School.

The CCTV footage also shows the child playing with his friends before he suddenly collapsed.

“We have registered a case of accidental death. We have not found anything suspicious, but we are carrying out an investigation and are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death,” said N D Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 10.
