BANGALORE: Public transport, no matter how ‘safe’ it is categorized is always a difficult thing for women. While we claim to be a proud part of a metropolitan city, these cities face maximum number of crime against women. In one of the most recent incidents reported in Bangalore, a woman saved herself from being abducted by using her presence of mind and alertness.
Nega Agarwal, a young tech professional in Bangalore was commuting in an auto as she realized about a reflection in it. She felt that somebody was hiding in the space behind the seat which obviously scared her. But instead of panicking, she chose to move smartly and quickly jumped out of the auto as it slowed down in heavy traffic. She then approached a nearby police official who on checking found a boy hiding in the rear area of the auto holding a knife.
After arresting the driver and the boy, another cop helped Neha to find a different auto and reach back home safely.
Well, the quick thinking and courage shown by Neha is worth appreciation along with the spontaneous helpfulness of the policemen present there.
