In another shocker that exposes how insensitively students are being treated in schools, 88 girls of class VI and VII were allegedly asked to undress as part of the punishment given by three teachers. Following the incident, the victim students approached All Sagalee Students Union (ASSU) after which the matter was further reported to the police. In the complaint given to the police by ASSU, it mentioned that three teachers allegedly forced 88 girls to undress before other students after they found a paper with vulgar words about the teacher and a girl student written on it. Not a first when a incident has been reported when girl students have been humiliated in front of other students. Previously, on November 4, in another demoralising incident coming from a school situated in Madhya Pradesh, a girl studying in class 10 was allegedly made to strip on the pretext of a search after her classmate lost some money. The incident had taken place in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh area after a student lost Rs 70 and without showing any sensitivity, another girl was made to strip. Speaking on the incident, the victim student said that her classmate lost some money. The teacher checked my bag and threatened me to admit to theft. But when she refused, she made me and my friend strip.
According to reports, taking action after the incident surfaced, a District Education Officer then said that they have issued a show cause notice to the Principal of the school. “We will take strict action against people responsible,” the District Education Officer added. However, there is no response whatsoever from the school teacher or from the school management or any the classmate who had lost Rs 70 after this embarrassing incident took place. Also, the girl parents’ had also not said anything about the incident.
