KOLKATA: Local train services were disrupted in certain sections of Sealdah division of Eastern Railways on Tuesday. This disruption has been caused following squatting on tracks and blockades by Congress supporters in wake of the 12-hour-bandh in West Bengal today.
Several trains have been held up at Bhabla station in North 24 Parganas district. Congress supporters have blocked the railway track at Burdwan railway station and climbed up the engine of Asansol-Sealdah local train to lodge their protest
While GT Road is also blocked, the government bus in Howrah have been vandalized by Bandh supporters and passengers were forced to get down.
According to the reports, the TMC supporters were clashing with Congress supporters in front of District Collector’s Office in Raiganj in Uttar Dinajpur district.

Meanwhile in Malda, when Congress supporters were protesting outside Zilla Collectrorate Building, police entered into a massive scuffle to shoo them away.
Nine Congress workers were detained and later released but the absence of lady police officials sparked the Congress to stage a sit in demonstration.
MPs Mausam Noor and Abu Hashem Khan Chowdhury were also present.
