Rose gold wasn’t a very familiar term in the buzzing smartphone market until Apple applied it on its canvas and introduced it to the market in iPhone 6S and 6S Plus models.
Chinese mobile firm, Oppo, claims that it’s new smartphone R7S is the first rose gold Android phone in the market.
Samsung did bring rose gold into the market with Galaxy Note 3, but it lacked the merest touch of pink to be deemed as a proper rose gold colour phone.
When Apple released the iPhone6S into the market, Tim Cook said that the rose gold phone was designed especially to pertain to the needs of the Chinese market. And, following the trail, Oppo’s R7S tries to be an clever alternative for the luxurious colour.
Though in front of the iPhone, the Oppo looks slightly pinker and adorns a lesser gold.
It is much more than the gold veneer that Oppo has aspired to become. ColorOS 2.1, Android Lollipop version of Oppo, is similar to Apple’s IOS interface. The R7S shows the entire app in the homescreen instead of making a separate list for apps like other Android phones. If you press on the icon of an app and hold it, the apps will wriggle to signify rearrangement.
The phone also possesses a front flash for the selfie camera to illuminate all features in the dark.
