New Delhi: The Reliance Jio with its ultra cheap data plans has suddenly brought a new shift in the internet market and begun a new era of competition. As all telecommunication companies wonder over how they will compete with the newly launched Jio, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the BB 249 plan that will offer unlimited data for six months. 
In this new plan, the activation cost per month will be low including many benefits such as free calling on Sundays and night calling as well. However, this luring offer is only for new users to BSNL broadband service.
6 things to know about BSNL BB 249 
No rental charge 

There will be no rental charges for telephone under this BSNL Experience BB Unlimited 249 plan as it is a combo plan.

No specific cap on data limit

BB 249 plan will be unlimited and there is no specific cap on the data limit. It includes unlimited browsing, uploading, downloading and free calling.

FUP Limit

The FUP limit of the BSNL BB 249 plan is 1 GB at a speed of 2 Mbps. After exceeding the FUP limit, the speed will drop to 1 Mbps, but you can use unlimited data at this speed.

Unlimited Calls

With BSNL BB 249 plan, users get unlimited landline calling and unlimited free night calling between 9 PM and 7 AM every day between Monday and Saturday.  On Sundays, there will be free calling all through the day.

Call Rates

For call rates, user will be charged Re.1 per call for BSNL network calls and Re. 1.2 for calls to per networks per minute.


Initially BSNL BB 249 plan will be valid for 180 days from the date of activation. However, after this period, the users will be migrated to the BSNL 449 unlimited broadband plan automatically. The customers can migrate to better plans as well.
