New Delhi: January 19 could be considered as one of the biggest day for all the tech enthusiasts as Xiaomi revealed its first product of 2017. The highly anticipated successor of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 – the Redmi Note 4 made its debut today in the national capital and will be available exclusively on Flipkart. 
 
Hugo Barra, who is a Brazilian computer scientist, technology executive and entrepreneur, is currently the vice president for Xiaomi in Beijing took the stage and announced the launch of its latest tech toy Redmi Note 4.
 
Calling Redmi Note 4 a game changer, Hugo, threw light on the series of new features which will be donned by the new smartphone.
 
Here are few of the highlights and phone specifications of the newly launched Redmi Note 4:
 
a) The Redmi Note 4 features a metal body with 8.45mm thickness and better antenna functionality. 
 
b) The newly launched phone features a fingerprint scanner at its back that doubles up as a selfie clicker.
 
c) The new Redmi Note 4 will come in three colour options, however, the black colour option will be available immediately. 
 
 
d) The Redmi Note 4 is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC. 
 
e) The phone offers better battery life than the older Redmi Note 3 and lasts 25% longer. 
 
f) As compared to the iPhone 7 and Google Pixel XL, the company claims that the Redmi Note 4 offers better battery life and that its battery lasts 70% longer.
 
g) It comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with PDAF. It also includes a 5MP front camera.
 
h) The Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch full HD, fully laminated display with a reading mode. 
 
i) It’s a 4G dual SIM phone and comes with a hybrid SIM card slot. 
 
j) The Redmi Note 4 is also made in India, claims Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra. 
 
k) The phone is expected to be available starting from January 23 on Flipkart exclusively. Reportedly no prior registrations are required. 
 
Options available: The Redmi Note 4 also comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM and costs Rs 12,999. The 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM version costs Rs 10,999. The 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM version costs Rs 9,999. All of them support expandable storage of up to 128GB. 
 
Price: 2GB/ 32GB- Rs 9,999. 3GB/32GB- Rs 10,999, 4GB/64GB- Rs 12,999
