Social media platform Twitter on Wednesday has unveiled a new feature named ‘Happening Now’ for its new users that will show you all the latest events happening and will keep you updated about the trending topics. According to TechCrunch, the new feature called ‘Happening Now’ will highlight various cluster of tweets about a particular topic that is trending on Twitter, starting with sports which will be further be expanded to other categories like entertainment and breaking news.

The social media platform through their official handle said that they have rolled out a new way for users to see what’s ‘happening now’ starting from sports,”Feel the roar of the crowd, no matter where you are. We’re rolling out a new way to see what’s happening now, starting with sports! Available on Android and iOS starting today,” Twitter posted. The new feature ‘Happening Now’ quite similar to Twitter Moments and what makes it different is that Moments are curated stories that showcase the top events that are being trending on Twitter.

Moments was customised to show the current topics that are popular on Twitter based on the user’s discretion or whatever they find relevant to discover the trending topics Twitter is disclosing. Just like the Instagram stories, Twitter Moments are also more visual based where you can update and view events trending around users. Last year Twitter had updated its home page for logged-out users so that categories like news, sports and entertainment become visible for them. Happening now feature is added for new users, who don’t want create a customized lists or search custom hashtags in order to follow or unfollow news handles, influential people on Twitter. According to sources ‘Happening Now’ will be rolled on mobile platforms like Android and iOS from today.
