Punjab police obtained seven-day detention for gangster Lawrence Bishnoi on Wednesday, who was brought before a Chief Judicial Magistrate in Mansa court in connection with the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.
Punjab Police produced Bishnoi before a Chief Judicial Magistrate in Mansa court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a Punjabi musician. After Delhi’s Patiala House Court permitted Punjab Police to arrest gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder and also granted Punjab Police’s transit application on Tuesday, the thug was taken to Punjab.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s lawyer, Vishal Chopra, contested the Punjab Police motion, claiming that there is a security risk. If transit remand is granted, there is concern that Lawrence Bishnoi will be “eliminated.”
We are not opposed to virtual interrogation and investigation, according to Bishnoi’s counsel.
He went on to say, “We are only challenging his remand to Punjab for physical transport. If necessary, Punjab Police can detain him in the matter, but only in Delhi.”
On May 29, unidentified assailants shot and killed Sidhu Moose Wala in Jawaharke village in Punjab’s Mansa district. The incident occurred a day after the Punjab police withdrew his security, along with that of 424 others.
Notably, the musician joined the Congress party in December of last year, just before the Assembly elections.
