Abuja:  A senior official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was shot dead by gunmen who stormed his home here, NFF said.
Ibrahim Abubakar, 43, was the head of protocol at the Nigerian federation. The incident happened in the Nigerian capital early Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
A NFF statement described his death as “painful” and said the deceased was “full of life” while at the office on Tuesday.
In a separate statement, NFF secretary general Mohammed Sanusi described Abubakar as a “dedicated and assiduous staff”.
Local security agencies said they have launched an investigation into the killing. Preliminary investigation has already revealed the gunmen broke into Abubakar’s home and opened fire on him.
