Nagpur: ICC T20 World Cup 2016 begins today with a match between Zimbabwe and Hong Kong, starting at 3 pm IST. The 13th and 14th ranked sides take on each other today in the qualifying stage.
Hong Kong did beat Bangladesh at the same stage in the 2014 T20 World Cup, which was played in Bangladesh itself. Hong Kong is hopeful of repeating its performance this time against Zimbabwe at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur.
Zimbabwe will fancy its chances of taking an early advantage in the beginning of the tournament. Prior to this match, Zimbabwe lost to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association XI, but redeemed lost pride by beating Ireland.
Hong Kong lost all three matches they played in the Asia Cup. Prior to this match, it was defeated by Ireland but managed to register a tense win against HPCA XI.
Both Zimbabwe and Hong Kong have had their share of wins and defeats prior to the opener today, and will be keen to start their World Cup campaign with a win under their belt.
