New Delhi: A few days before the commencement of the high voltage India-Pakistan ICC T20 World Cup match, five Pakistani diplomats were denied visa by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) have issued summon to the India’s Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan after diplomats were refused visas to visit India.
The reason behind turning down their visa proposals has been as mentioned as security concerns by the MEA. The five diplomats, who were denied the visa, are reported to have links with Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-State Intelligence (ISI) and the Pakistan military.
India has granted visa to the Pakistani fans only after thorough examination. The two other Pakistani diplomats who were granted visa were linked only to the civilian regime and not with the military establishment.
India and Pakistan to play their first World T20 match on March 19 at Eden Gardens. This match was scheduled to to be held in Dhramshala which was later rescheduled in Kolkata.
