Milan: One of the top performing clubs in the world and Serie A in particular at any other time, AC Milan, placed sixth in the Serie A charts, sacked manager Sinisa Mihajlovic on Tuesday, on account of non-performance.
AC Milan have had a rough season and are five match winless streak. The dry spell, sources say, is the reason behind the sacking of the manager.
Mihajlovic had earlier managed Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Serbia.
Youth-team coach Cristian Brocchi has been named his replacement until the end of the season.
Mihajlovic arrived at San Siro last year in June to replace Filippo Inzaghi and led the Rossoneri to the Coppa Italia final.
Milan’s defeat to Juventus on Saturday proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Mihajlovic. Juventus won 2-1 and left the Rossoneri 15 points adrift of third-placed Roma in the final Champions League qualifying berth.
