New Delhi: Inter Milan player Marcelo Brozovic who turned down an offer from Chelsea during the football transfer deadline day has increased his minimum transfer fee clause to £42 million with the club.

Inter Milan had reportedly accepted the £21 million offer made by Chelsea, but Brozovic bluntly refused to sign the deal. After the player’s rejection, Inter Milan will be signing a new contract with Brozovic to ensure that other English clubs do not swoop in easily for the player, hence, the £42 million on Brozovic’s head.

“He’s happy to stay, he knows the city and loves to play for Inter. The new contract will give him even more peace of mind, so that he can focus better on the field. Many clubs were interested in him, but is now the past,” Brozovic’s agent Miroslav Bicanic said.
