New Delhi: Jose Mourinho, the manager of Premier League club Manchester United, was charged with misconduct for comments made to the referee Mark Clattenburg during last week’s match between Man United and Burnley on Saturday.

Mourinho had lashed out at Clattenburg after his team was not given a penalty for Jon Flanagan’s challenge on Matteo Darmian.

The Football Association (FA) today issued a statement saying that Mourinho had abused the referee Clattenburg. It also said the Man United boss had time until 6pm on November 4, 2016.

The statement read: “Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct following Manchester United’s game against Burnley on Saturday [29 October 2016].

“It is alleged that in or around the tunnel area at half time he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a Match Official. He has until 6pm on 4 November 2016 to respond to the charge.”

This is the second time in a week that Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct.
