It looks like Zinedine Zidane’s side are back on winning terms as Real Madrid beat Osasuna 3-1 on Saturday at El Sadar in Pamplona to regain the top spot in La Liga standings.

Madrid’s all-time top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Los Blancos in the 24th minute when he drilled a low shot past goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu across goal into the bottom-left corner.

Petar Vasiljevic’s men were quick in responding with an equalizer of their own in the 33rd minute when Sergio Leon clipped a neat finish over advancing Keylor Navas.

The Whites eventually got their lead back in the 62nd minute through Spanish International Isco, who picked the loose ball and steered his shot inside the far post making it 2-1 for the visitors.

The seesaw battle between the two sides at El Sadar was also plagued by horrific injuries and upsetting incidents on the pitch.

Osasuna’s Tano suffered a broken leg through a committed challenge from Isco.

Real’s Danilo was stretchered off with an ankle injury after a horrific tackle from David Garcia who had earlier replaced injured Tano.

“Obviously you feel for the injury to Tano. We wish him well. Danilo has gotten a blow and we’ll have tests tomorrow,” Madrid coach Zidane said in a statement.

Later, Lucas Vasquez made it 3-1 for the league leaders in the dying moments of the game after an exquisite ball out from Madrid left-back Marcelo.
