Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic came from the bench to score the winning goal on Sunday to book Manchester United’s quarter-final ticket with a thrilling 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in their FA Cup 5th round match at Ewood Park.
Championship strugglers Blackburn Rovers broke the deadlock through Danny Graham, who unleashed a great strike past United goalkeeper Romero into the top right corner in the 17th minute of the game.
In reply, Jose Mourinho’s men caught Blackburn on the break in the 27th minute when Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan made a great run in the middle of the pitch and produced even a better pass to set up Marcus Rashford, who equalised for United.
The Special One later made a double change to get back into the game as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba were introduced just after an hour mark.
The Red devils turned the tie on their head when they took the lead in the 75th minute when Pogba, almost on the half way line fired a wonderful quick cross towards Ibrahimovic who beat the keeper with ease.
With this win The Red Devils are drawn to face Antonio Conte’s Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals that will take place on 11th March.
