Olympique Lyon ace striker Alexandre Lacazette is on the brink of completing a record move, reportedly 50 million euro, to Premier League giants Arsenal, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said in a statement. Earlier, Aulas said that there is no movement in the transfer dealing of Lacazette but backtracking on his previous statement, he said on Monday that a move for the French forward is very likely on the cards.

Hinting at the possibility of the transfer, Lyon chief said, “Arsenal’s first offer was around 45 million euro, the transfer will be concluded in the range of 45 million to 50 million euro.”

“Being close to 50 million euro is something unique and will probably be a record for Arsenal and Lyon as well,” he added.

If Lacazette moves to Arsenal in 50 million euro then it will be a club record transfer, equalling what the North London outfit paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

Arsene Wenger has been a long term admirer of the 26-year-old French striker and now its seems like his charm offensive might bear fruition this summer.

Alexandre Lacazette has made 275 appearances for the club and has scored 129 goals since he broke onto the bigger stage. He is one of the hottest propects in France and 113 goals in his last 4 seasons explain his meteric rise in Ligue 1.

In 2014–15 he was crowned Ligue 1’s top scorer with 27 goals in 33 games and also the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year.

Lacazette has represented France across all youth levels.
