Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe is the next big thing, probably the hottest footballing prospect in the world today and an array of top clubs across Europe are vying for his signing. Arsene Wenger, who has been a long-term admirer of the Frenchman, has come out in the open and has showered praised on him.

There have been rumours doing rounds that a couple of bids for Mbappe made by Arsenal lately have resulted in failure as the parent club of the attacker is holding out for a world record transfer fee to get his transfer process in motion.

Wenger in a press briefing launched a charm offensive for Mbappe, saying, “I believe nobody can say they are not interested in a player of that calibre because he has such immense quality at 18 years of age.”

Further expressing his immense liking for the player, Arsenal boss said, “There’s not many players who have that kind of luck because he’s 18 years of age and has the whole of Europe rolling out a red carpet for him.”

If the reports are to be believed then Arsenal and Real Madrid have emerged as the serious contenders who are relentlessly working to secure Kylian Mbappe’s move away from Monaco.

The French forward shot to prominence in 2016-17 when he marshaled the Monaco troops to Ligue 1 title, ending the long-running reign of Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe scored a phenomenal 26 goals in 44 appearances in his breakthrough season and caught eye of many scouts across the continent with top notch performances in Monaco’s Champions League run to the semis.
