Premier League champions Chelsea, after struggling in the opening two games of the 2017 season, are going in for another striker to strengthen their attack.

The Blues are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City main man Jamie Vardy.

Chelsea so far have not been able to revamp their attack despite roping in Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata and have lost the impact on attack front. Blues boss Antonio Conte after a successful campaign last season had a bust up with Spaniard Diego Costa and reports said that the striker received a message form Conte and was told by the manager that he is no more required at the club.

Costa since has been away from the club and has been adamant about joining Atletico Madrid once their ban is uplifted.

But now the Diego Costa saga seems to be haunting the champions as Antonio Conte has not yet found his main attacker, with Alvaro Morata far from being a leader of the pack. The Italian now is on a look-out for another goal poacher and has set his sight on Vardy who was the hero for Foxes in their stunning 2015 Premier League triumph.

The 30-year-old English striker might not have age on his side but his unbeaten pace and finishing skills make him a perfect fit at Chelsea. Vardy has been phenomenal for the Foxes netting 13 league goals last season.

Considering the fact that Vardy brings in amass of English League experience and is at the peak of his form anything between £30-£40 million would be a steal for Chelsea.

Another Leicester star Danny Drinkwater is also on the club’s radar and a £30 million deal is close to be executed to bring in the midfielder at Stamford Bridge.

If the Leicester duo is roped in at the London club, they will add unmatchable quality to Conte’s squad and rejuvenate their challenge in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
