Indian batsman Manish Pandey pulled off a brilliant catch on the edge of the boundary line to see off Australian batsman Peter Handscomb who was looking to go big on the occasion.

Pandey’s agility is not a secret to anyone, the Uttarakhand cricketer is one of the best fielders in the current Indian team. As usual, today as well he was deployed at the boundary line to keep Aussies from crossing it often, and Pandya justified his captain’s trust by taking a brilliant catch in the 48th over of the match.

Bumrah kept it outside the off stump and Handscomb stepped out to loft it into the crowds but to the Australian’s dismay he couldn’t do enough to beat Manish Pandey who had already judged the ball and kept his eyes glued on it. He jumped in the air deflected the ball over the rope all in the time when he was in air and then calmly stepped outside the rope and clinched it in his safe hands before the ball  could have touched the ground.

Australia hence suffered two-way damage as they lost a prominent tail-ender who could have provided some big hits in the last overs and also lost the six runs which could have taken them to a 300 or maybe 300 plus score.

India however have got a stern test lying ahead of them as they have to chase a staggering 294 runs in 50 over. Virat Kohli and his men would have already formulated a plan of how to take the innings forward and get the series home.

We are also hoping, Manish Pandey continues to the good work on the pitch with his bat and give his fans moments like these to enjoy.  An impressive attempt from Pandya today, which will be remembered throughout the series.
