India’s cricket sensation Sachin Tendulkar in an initiative to promote cleanliness in the country on Tuesday took part in ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign in Mumbai’s Bandra West. The Centre in order to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s one of the flagship schemes, ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign had launched ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’, a nation-wide sanitation campaign on September 15.
Sachin Tendulkar on early Monday morning participated in ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign and went on a cleaning drive in Mumbai’s Bandra area.
Previously, South super star Rajinikanth had also conveyed it to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that his cleanliness programme ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ mission had his full support.
Rajinikanth took to his Twitter account and said that he extend his full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ mission. “Cleanliness is godliness.”
Recently, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma was also invited to represent female face for PM Modi’s one of the flagship schemes ‘Swachh Bharat’ Mission.
In response to a letter from Prime Minister’s office, Anushka said that she was honoured to be a part of this noble initiative.
“I am honoured to be a part of Swachh Bharat campaign and will do my best for the noble initiative of ‘SwachhataHiSeva,’. Apart from Anushka, other Bollywood celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan and Vidya Balan have also promoted Swachh Bharat campaign.
Earlier in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while launching the ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign invited Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kamal Hassan, industrialist Anil Ambani, Goa Governor Mridula Sinha and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, yoga guru Ramdev and popular Indian TV sitcom “Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma” for promoting cleanliness in India and make people aware of the importance of being clean.
Taking the initiative forward, superstar Salman Khan accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invite and to be part of ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign.
In 2014, Salman Khan took up a cleanliness drive in Karjat area of Mumbai and shared pictures on social media.
