A resolute Tottenham brushed aside recently promoted Huddersfield Town 4-0 in the 7th round of Premier League played at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday. Continuing his terrific form in the top division of English football, Tottenham spearhead demolished the minnows single-handedly with a tremendous brace.

Defender Ben Davies and M Sissoko were also on the score sheet for the visiting side as Tottenham maintains the pressure at the top of the Premier League table. White Hart Lane outfit has now 14 points from 7 games played and sits at third behind league leaders Manchester City and Manchester United.

Mauricio Pochettino fielded the strongest line-up available to him against the Huddersfield side which entered the game with only one defeat from 6 games. The home side started strongly, controlling the tempo of the game and leaving no chances for Hotspurs to capitalise upon but Harry Kane was the man again for Tottenham as he gave his side 1-0 lead with a near post finish.

In 16th minute of the game, Ben Davies doubled the lead for his side with a well taken shot. It was a brilliant build up by Tottenham where Kane and Eriksen played crucial passes, leaving lurking Davies with an open net.

Just after six minutes of the second goal, Kane unleashed a beauty of a ball from edge of the area which flew past the goalkeeper in the top corner of the net. The Englishmen single-handedly ended Huddersfield challenge in the first half and made sure his side took all the three points from the game.

Tireless midfielder Sissoko put the final nail in the coffin by scoring the fourth and final goal of the game in the injury time.

Premier League will be on a break of two weeks as international fixtures will begin from this week. After the international break, Tottenham will host Bournemouth at White Hart Lane on October 14.
