Speculation over Ronaldo’s future at Madrid will not affect the club top goal scorer’s performances, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has said. Keeping himself at bay, the Real Madrid manager has stated that the recent questions over Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract will not tint his goal scoring exploits as he is expected to remain focused despite having a tardy start to his La Liga campaign this season.

When asked about whether Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted for a contact renewal or not, the manager said that the Portuguese international is in good shape and is most interested in scoring goals by playing more matches. “I see him in good shape, I see that he is happy and focused,” said Zidane during the pre-match presser.

“What Cristiano is most interested in is playing games, scoring goals, that will always stay the same, Zidane added. Keeping himself at bay, Zidane cleared himself by saying he will be the last one to get involved in such issues as the discussion is between the club and player.

“I’m not getting involved in that. It is a club issue, a discussion between the club and Cristiano,” the former French International said. According to Zizou, it’s up to the club to decide and going as per the current relation they both are having, there will be no problems if everything continues to grow in the same manner.

“They will have to decide what happens. There will be no problem between him and the club. It [the relationship] is going to stay the same as always, very good,” The 45-year-old was quoted as saying. Speaking about the next match as they are up against a challenging side that goes by the name Espanyol, Zidane believes that its important for Ronaldo to be on pitch against Quique Sanchez Flores’ side. “The most important thing for him is to play and be on the pitch against Espanyol,” he concluded.
