“Hardik Pandya is the biggest asset (from the Australia ODI series). Selection dilemma is always a good headache for me as a skipper it’s always better to have plenty to pick from and take the best 11 possible in the game,” Indian captain Virat Kohli said in the press conference after clinching the 5-match ODI series 4-1 against Australia. The skipper was full of praises for his trust-worthy all-rounder Hardik Pandya who came all guns blazing in the games he played. Both with the bat and the ball, he played the role of a game changer for India. Many were questioning his selection and his promotion up in the batting order but Pandya answered all the critiques with his abilities on the field and played a dynamic role in India’s triumph.
Pandya collected 222 runs with the bat and floored 6 Aussie batsmen to take home the Man of the tournament award. He made his mark in the tournament and garnered praises from several cricketers and critiques around the world. Indian legend Kapil Dev asserted him as a better all-rounder than the man himself and former Indian captain Rahul Dravid hailed him for transforming his career. Hardik’s brother and Mumbai Indian’s teammate Krunal Pandya also expressed his delight on his brother’s phenomenal performance in the Australian series.
Krunal took to twitter and revealed about a promise Hardik had made to him before going into the Australia series and how he has kept it intact. The promise was to set the stage on fire when he takes on the Aussies and with the pool of trophies he won with his outstanding batting and bowling, his brother couldn’t stop himself from posting the word on twitter.
“Just before the #INDvAUS series, @hardikpandya7 told me he will set the stage on fire & today I can proudly say, “you did it… and how!” Krunal wrote on Twitter.

Hardik replied to the post and acknowledged his elder brother’s appreciation. They both have come a long way from playing for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL to one of them making it big for the country.

Krunal Pandya too had an outstanding IPL 2017 season and was a key figure in the Mumbai Indian setup. He shares a similar sort of attacking batting style as his brother and spares no bowler when in charge. An all-rounder with inevitable leadership skills, Krunal can be the next star all-rounder in the Indian team if given a chance.
For Hardik this ODI series will be a huge positive in his so far successful career and he will be on his marks to take Australia for a ride again in the upcoming t-20 series from October 7.
