India has continued its medal-winning streak in the Commonwealth Games 2018 so far and when the Indian contingent steps into the field on Tuesday, they will look to continue their streak. India has 10 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals till day five of the ongoing sporting extravaganza in Gold Coast, Australia. A lot of interesting events are to happen today and it remains to be seen how participating Indians will fare.

The day six of the 21st edition of Commonwealth Games will begin with Indian shooters in their respective events. Heena Sidhu and Annu Singh will also play in the final of women’s 25m Air Pistol. Indian men’s hockey team will then play in the semi-final of the Games. Also, at least 4 Indian boxers have their crucial bouts on Tuesday.

05:50 IST— Hima Das finishes third in the 400m semi-final by clocking her personal best timing of 51.53 seconds, enters final.

05:26 IST— Muhammed Anas Yahiya finishes fourth in Men’s 400m Final

5:00 PM— India boxer Satish Kumar assures India yet another medal after beating Trinidad and Tobago’s Nigel Paul in the men’s 91 KG quarterfinal. 

04:50 PM—  Another medal for India as Sachin Chaudhary clintches bronze in Para Powerlifting men’s heavyweight event.

04:27 PM—India beat South Africa in women hockey and qualifies for the semi-final competition. The skipper Rani Rampal made it in the 4th quarter of the match.     

04:22 PM—India stuck to the plan and converted proteas mistake into the goal.     


04:16 PM— Goalllll!!!! India hits the South African goal post. The hard work of India team results in the lead in the crucial match. Indian skipper Rani Rampal made it for the team and beautifully flicked the balls African nets.  

04:06 PM— End of 3rd quarter, The scoreboard still stands with no score. 

03:59 PM—A chance to Score for India!!! Blue sticks get a penalty corner but misssed. Both teams are playing with strong defence and the scores are still 0-0.    

03:49 PM— Penalty corner!! South Africa got a chance to score but Indian side defends it strongly.  Indian goalkeeper Savita Punia dives to save the ball. 3 penalty corners and 3 misses by South Africa. The last one was saved superbly by the Indian keeper. It’s still 0-0 in this game.

03:38 PM—End of second-quarter, (half-time), South Africa Vs India 0-0, Proteas haven’t had too many chances in this quarter.This is a crucial encounter as the semi-final qualification position is at stake. 

03:27 PM—A good pressure built up by South Africa as they are continuously attacking the Indian goal coast.

11:25 AM IST | SHOOTING – That’s a gold medal for India! Heena Sidhu beats competition from Australia’s Elena Galiabovitch in Women’s 25m Pistol Finals and clinches gold medal. She fires two shots then misses one, and then goes on to fire two more shots on target for glory. Earlier, Annu Singh was eliminated from the event.

11:00 AM IST | BOXING – Naman Tanwar advances to semi-finals of 91 kg men’s boxing category after defeating Masoe. The 19-year-old Indian assures another medal to India.

09:40 AM IST | BOXING – Amit Phangal has stormed into the semi-finals of boxing, virtually assuring India of a medal.

09:05 AM IST | SQUASH – Dipika and Saurav have won their Pool E fixture against Guyana’s Mary Fung-a-Fat and Jason-Ray Khalil. The Indians won 11-3, 11-3.

09:00 AM IST | BADMINTON – The Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Ashwini Ponnappa have cruised past Guernsey’s Hardy and Le Tissier 21-9, 21-5. The match lasted just 20 minutes.

08:50 AM IST | SHOOTING – Men’s 50m prone rifle event is over and India’s Chain Singh has managed to finish at the fourth spot. Hard luck!
