Several of the top international teams will routinely feature in the FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia next year but there are few top guns which failed to secure a berth in the football’s biggest showdown. As the World Cup qualifying round draws to a close, fates of several teams have been decided already. Netherlands, Wales, Chile and the United States lead the list of teams that will sit out the football World Cup 2018.
With the ouster of Netherlands, flamboyant winger Arjen Robben announced his retirement from the international football. Had Netherlands managed to qualify for the World Cup, the Bayern Munich superstar would have represented his country in Russia. It’s just not Robben who will be sorely missed in the 2018 FIFA World Cup but there is a host of other players as well.
