Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo had nothing but praise for his fearless side after a 3-3 draw against UEFA Champions League specialist Liverpool despite being 3-0 down during the initial stages of the game at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool dominated the enchanting competition in the first half by scoring 3 goals inside the half hour mark of the game. For the Reds, Roberto Firmino started the proceedings for the Premier League side by scoring a brace in the first half. The Brazilian forward didn’t waste much time in getting off the mark as the 26-year old took just 2 minutes to get his name on the score sheet.

“What we had to do was react and rely on our personal pride to turn the thing around – in the second half Liverpool barely crossed the half way line,” Berizzo said. The jubilant manager asserted that it was his side’s attacking playing style which turned to be the difference maker in the end. Sevilla’s Istanbul-like of a comeback was turned into reality when Guido Pizarro scored an all-important equalizer in the 93rd minute. As Sevilla remained loyal to the idea of attacking football, they were rewarded with a fair result in the end. “When you are loyal to the idea of attacking football, the game of football will always reward you in the end,” Berizzo told.

Berizzo blamed Sevilla’s first half performance to the individual errors his side made against the visitors.”The first-half scoreline was down to individual errors,” Berizzo was quoted as saying. According to sources, the Sevilla manager had also revealed that he is diagnosed with prostate cancer at halftime. The Spanish club has also released an official statement regarding Eduardo Berizzo’s health. “The medical services of Sevilla FC report that the coach of the first team, Eduardo Berizzo, has been diagnosed with an adenocarcinoma of the prostate,” the statement read.
