Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan celebrated his 32nd birthday in style by scoring 67 runs on Day 4 of the third Test against Sri Lanka at Delhi’s Feroz Kotla Stadium. The opener’s birthday was made special by former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who wished him in his own unique style asking him to continue playing fearless cricket. “Happy birthday, @SDhawan25! May you continue to play as fearlessly as ever and don’t forget to twirl that moustache while you’re at it”, the legend posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Following the gritty innings, Dhawan celebrated his special day with teammates who smeared cake all over his face. the video of the same is being loved by people on social media. “We are not letting the birthday boy @SDhawan25 escape today,” BCCI captioned the image. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who is known for his innovative birthday wishes did not disappoint this time either and posted “Happy Birthday Shika The One , as angrez commentators call . May you be “The One” who rescues Team India whenever needed and lay foundation for many victories @SDhawan25,” Viru tweeted.
Rohit Sharma too wished the ‘crazy jatta da munda’ on his social media account and posted, “Here’s to this crazy jatta da munda, wish you a great birthday and lots of match-winning partnership @SDhawan25.”India are on the verge of winning the Kotla Test against Sri Lanka after reducing them to 31/3 on the fourth day of the third Test. Lankans have a mammoth target of 410 runs to win the match with only seven wickets in hand. Dhananjay De Silva (13) and Angelo Mathews (0) were on the crease when the umpires declared the end of play for the day. Sri Lankans are still 379 runs behind the target and will have to bat through the day in order to win or draw the ongoing match.
