Telangana Police detained two repeat criminals on Saturday in connection with recent kidnapping instances.
Two notorious kidnapping offenders have been detained under the Preventive Detention Act by CP, Rachakonda and lodged in Central Prison, Cherlapally, the police said in a statement. This is part of an ongoing campaign against anti-social elements to ensure the sense of safety and security of the general public, especially business people, and to maintain public order in the Commissionerate. Puneet Tiwari, a native of Vanasthalipuram, has been named as one of the inmates. He is good friends with BJP Corporator for Gaddiannaram Municipal Corporation Baddam Prem Maheshwar Reddy.
Additionally, he is well acquainted with other acquaintances and party members who are ardent supporters of the current corporator. He gradually began engaging in local settlements and going out in public.
He was charged with extortion in 2012 under section 382 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the Vanasthalipuram Limits. This case is the subject of Cr. No. 1018/2012 of PS Vanasthalipuram.
He has allegedly been engaging in illegal activity through criminal intimidation, according to the police. He used to harm and abduct his friends’ and Baddam Prem Maheshwar Reddy’s political adversaries in order to settle disputes with them and to gain quick money.
Morupoju Ravi Verma alias Ravi has been recognised as the second prisoner.
He is Punit Tiwari’s close buddy and a chronic criminal.
He has taken part in a number of criminal cases in Rachakonda limits and other areas of Telangana since 2012.
He was held in Cherlapally’s Central Prison in 2019 in accordance with the PD Act. But after coming out, he turned to engaging in the same behaviours once more.
Both of the suspects were recently connected to a few kidnapping instances in the Saroornagar PS boundaries. They swiftly abducted two individuals.
