Six persons were murdered after a speeding SUV collided with an auto rickshaw and a motorcycle in Gujarat’s Anand district. Ketan Padhiyar, the son-in-law of a Congress MLA, was driving the vehicle and was arrested.
The collision happened near Sojitra hamlet on a state route linking Anand and Tarapur. The driver of the automobile, according to preliminary evidence, was drunk.
“At about 7 p.m., a car, a bike, and an auto-rickshaw collided in Anand, killing six persons.” Four persons in the vehicle and two on the motorcycle died on the scene, while the driver of the automobile is being treated at a hospital. The news agency reported Abhishek Gupta, ASP Anand, as adding that an investigation is ongoing.
Three members of a family died, including two sisters and their mother.
According to authorities, a car with the license plate GJ-23-CD-4404 collided with an auto rickshaw and a bike near Dali village in Sojitra taluka.

Meanwhile, according to Anand Police, “The culprit has been taken into custody. Section 304 of the IPC has been triggered. The identities of the six dead people have been discovered. Ketan Padhiyar, the accused, is the son-in-law of a Congress MLA.”
The automobile is registered in the name of Ketan Padhiyar, a cousin of Congress MLA Poonambhai Parmar, according to preliminary research.
Meanwhile, following the accident, BJP spokesman Shehzad Poonawalla tweeted, “This is the genuine face of Congress.”
