NIA arrests a man with ISIS link in search operations conducted in Delhi

The probe agency arrested Mohsin Ahmad who is son of Mohd Shakil Ahmad and a permanent resident of Bihar. He is accused of carrying out online and on-ground activities of the terrorist organization, ISIS.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted search operations in Delhi and arrested a man with ISIS links on Saturday.
The probe agency arrested Mohsin Ahmad who is son of Mohd Shakil Ahmad and a permanent resident of Bihar. He is accused of carrying out online and on-ground activities of the terrorist organization, ISIS.

Mohsin is arrested at Batla house in Delhi. The students of Jamia reported about Mohsin. They came to know about Mohsin when he tried to influence many students with the ideology of ISIS.


A case was registered on June 25 by NIA under Sections 153 A (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), and 153 B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 18, 18B, 38, 39, and 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.


According to the source, the arrested man is a radicalised and active member of ISIS. He is accused of involving in collecting funds for ISIS from sympathisers in India and abroad. Further, he is alleged of sending these funds to Syria and other places in the form of cryptocurrency to fund the activities of ISIS.
