Manila (Philippines): Seven army rangers were injured on Wednesday in a grenade attack on a military truck that was passing through Jolo town in southern Philippines.
 
A leading news agency quoted Major Filemon Tan Jr., a spokesman of the area military unit Western Mindanao Command, as saying that troopers from the 10th Scout Ranger Company (SRC) were attacked at about 5:20 a. m local time.
 
The soldiers were returning to the base after fetching a companion in a passenger ferry at the wharf of Jolo when the grenade was lobbed from unknown direction.
