New Delhi: In what can be termed as a faux-pas by the Afghanistan diplomats, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a five-nation tour starting today, was greeted by children holding inverse national flags of India.
The Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate the India-Afghan Friendship Dam earlier known as Salma Dam, along with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
The Afghan-India Friendship Dam is a project planned for generating 42 MW of power, irrigating 75000 hectares of land, water supply and other benefits to the people of Afghanistan. The project is executed and implemented by WAPCOS Ltd., a Government of India Undertaking under ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
