Dhaka: A 70-year-old Hindu priest, Ananda Gopal Ganguly, was slaughtered to death by some unidentified attackers in western Bangladesh on Tuesday.
The body has been sent for an autopsy and investigations have begun.
There have been continuous attacks on minorities, secular bloggers, intellectuals and foreigners in the last three years that have left more than 40 dead. Ganguly is the 11th person to be killed in a series of attacks on minorities by suspected Islamist militants.
Earlier in April, a professor was hacked to death in Rajshahi city and a Hindu tailor who too was hacked to death by ISIS militants in his shop.
Although the ISIS and Al-Queda have claimed responsibility for the attacks in Bangladesh, the government had denied their presence in Bangladesh.
