New Delhi: An EgyptAir flight en route from Cairo to Beijing was forced to make an emergency landing in Uzbekistan after a bomb threat on Wednesday. The plane carrying 118 passengers and 17 crew members landed in Uzbekistan at around 8 am after receiving information about the presence of a bomb on board.

All the passengers were safely evacuated from the plane, the airline authorities said. The search is underway to detect the presence of bomb.

The threat came weeks after an EgyptAir flight crashed into the mediterranean sea.
