KARACHI: Over 40 people, including children and women were reported dead and over 20 people injured in a terror attack in Karachi, Pakistan on Wednesday.

According to the reports, about six armed men came on the motorcycles and opened fire on a passenger bus in Safoora Chowrangi area of Karachi. 

Among the dead, at least 16 women are included and around a dozen people are in serious conditions which have been rushed to a hospital.   

Over 60 passengers were present in the bus that reportedly belongs to the Ismaili community housing project – Al-Azhar Garden Colony in Karachi.

Reports suggest that the gunmen first opened fire on the bus driver and conductor, entered the bus and shot the passengers on the head. 

All the attackers then escaped from the crime scene.
