New Delhi: Days after the deadly terror attack at the Indian army base in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Co-Chair of Senate India Caucus and US Senator Mark Warner on Wednesday condemned the attacks and said, “Terrorists behind this cowardly act must be brought to justice.”
Speaking against Pakistan, US Congressman Ted Poe said, “This is the latest consequence of Pakistan’s longstanding irresponsible policy of supporting and providing operational space for all stripes of jihadi terrorist groups.”
“Pak’s reckless behaviour in this regard is a serious security risk to its neighbours and India unfortunately pays price all too often. Condemn this tragic attack, as well as Pak’s support for many criminals like ones who carried it out,” Ted Poe added.
Another senator from US Congress, Tom Cotton, said, “The pre-dawn terrorist attack on Indian troops while they slept was a cowardly act, deserves strongest condemnation. US and India share a vital interest in defending our democracies from the threat of radical Islamic terrorism.”
On September 18, terrorists of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit attacked an army camp near a brigade headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir. It was seen as the worst attack on any military base in the state in a decade that killed 18 army personnel.
