Russia has not taken too well to the comments made by Fox News host Bill O’Reilly where the host refers to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a ‘killer’. The Kremlin demanded an apology from the channel.
Fox News aired an exclusive interview of United States President Donald Trump on Sunday where host Bill O’Reilly interjects the president and refers to Putin as a killer.
“He’s killer though,” said O’Reilly. “Putin’s a killer.”
Putin’s administration has been accused of assassinating opposition leaders, human rights activists, journalists and whistle-blowers, many of whom have died under mysterious circumstances.
“We think that such words from a correspondent of the Fox News network are unacceptable, insulting and we would, honestly, prefer to receive apologies,” Kremlin said as they condemned the network.
Trump’s reply to Bill O’Reilly’s comment was also criticised by many. The US President, in a reply to the interviewer, said, “There are a lot of killers. We’ve got a lot of killers. What, you think our country’s so innocent? You think our country’s so innocent?”
