The girlfriend of Las Vegas shooting gunman Stephen Paddock on Wenesday said that she saw no signs coming from his boyfriend on pulling off such a horrific massacre like this where he killed 59 innocents ruthlessly during a music concert. While giving his first comments in public after the mass shooting, Marilou Danley said that her boyfriend sent her to the Philippines where he wired money for the trip but never mentioned about the gruesome attack.
Danley said Paddock “never said anything to me, or took any action that I was aware of, that I understood in any way to be a warning that something horrible like this was going to happen.” While she was in the Philippines, Danley said, Paddock wired her money that he said was for her to buy a house for her and her family, CNN reported.
“It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone,” she said in the statement. Her attorney Matt Lombard said Danley was fully cooperating with the investigation into why Paddock fired for nine to 11 minutes from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino into a crowd of 22,000 concert-goers in the heart of Las Vegas, reports CNN.
Even though Danley felt thankful, she was also worried that her unanticipated trip home followed by the wired money was a way of a possible break-up in their relationship. When asked about her boyfriend, Danley said she knew Stephen as a kind, caring, quiet man and had hopes for a quiet future together with him.”I knew Stephen Paddock as a kind, caring, quiet man,” the 62-year-old was quoted as saying. “I loved him and hoped for a quiet future together with him,” she added.
