Nepal PM to arrive today for India tour, Deuba to also visit BJP headquarters

Deuba will meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today. He will also visit the BJP headquarters in Delhi where he will meet the party’s national president JP Nadda.

Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will be on a three-day official tour to India from today. This will be Deuba’s first international visit since taking oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal for his latest term in July 2021. Deuba will meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today. He will also visit the BJP headquarters in Delhi where he will meet the party’s national president JP Nadda. This will be the first visit of a foreign premier to the BJP’s headquarter.

The Nepalese PM will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation and his wife Dr. Arzu Deuba. Besides New Delhi, Deuba will also visit Varanasi.

In a recent statement ahead of the visit, the MEA said, “In recent years, the partnership has witnessed significant growth in all areas of cooperation. The upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review this wide-ranging cooperative partnership and to progress it further for the benefit of the two peoples.”
