In a display of growing friendship and friendly diplomatic relations between India and USA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden held bilateral talks in Tokyo today. The bilateral meeting came in the backdrop of Quad leaders summit 2022, which took place earlier in the day.

Speaking at the bilateral meeting with PM Modi, Joe Biden said he is pleased that India and US have reached agreement for US Development Finance Corporation to continue this important work in India, supporting vaccine production, clean energy initiatives. He expressed that he is glad that the two countries are renewing the Indo-US Vaccine Action Program.

Reaffirming their commitment towards US-India partnership, Joe Biden said that there is so much that the two countries can and will do together. He also expressed his commitment to make US-India partnership among the closest relations on earth.

Joe Biden further shared that the two leaders discussed the Russia-Ukraine war as well and US-India are going to continue to consult closely on how to mitigate these negative effects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the other hand, expressed that the common interests and values between the two countries have strengthened their bond, adding that their discussions today will give speed to this positive momentum. PM Modi exuded confidence that with the conclusion of the US Investment Incentive Agreement, we will see concrete progress in investment between our two countries.
