Gold and Silver Rate Today
Gold Rate Today: Gold prices in India dropped after rising strongly for several days, as investors started booking profits. The yellow metal had seen a big jump recently, with 24K gold increasing by nearly Rs 33,900 per 100 gm in just three days. However, in the latest session, the trend changed and gold prices fell across all purity levels.
Gold prices fell at the same time the Indian rupee became stronger. The rupee saw its biggest rise in more than 12 years after the Reserve Bank of India took new steps to control currency fluctuations.
When the rupee gets stronger, gold usually becomes cheaper in India, which is why prices came down.
According to GoodReturns data, 24k gold prices have dropped sharply. The price for 1 gram is now Rs 14,897, down by Rs 398 from the previous day.
For 8 grams, the rate has fallen to Rs 1,19,176, which is Rs 3,184 lower than before. The price of 10 grams is now Rs 1,48,970, showing a decline of Rs 3,980.
For larger quantities, 100 grams of 24K gold is currently priced at Rs 14,89,700, marking a significant drop of Rs 39,800 compared to the previous role.
Silver price in India is influenced by international prices, which move in either director. The price of silver in India on April 3 is Rs 250 per gram and Rs 2,50,000 per kg. Apart from this, Silver prices also depend on how the rupee performs against the US dollar. If the rupee weakens compared to the dollar while global prices stay the same, silver becomes more expensive in India.
