
Oracle Corporation Layoffs Shock India
Oracle has sent shockwaves through the tech industry after starting a worldwide employee termination process which particularly affected its operations in India.
The reports show that more than 12000 Indian employees will lose their jobs through a companywide plan which aims to eliminate more than 30000 positions around the world.
The professional employment of thousands of workers ended when their termination notifications started to arrive in their inboxes at 6 AM on March 31.
The Oracle India job cuts demonstrate how the company shifted its international business needs and its internal business operations. Employees from multiple departments lost access to company systems right after the company issued the 6 AM announcement.
“We are sharing some difficult news regarding your position.
After careful consideration of Oracle’s current business needs, we have made the decision to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change. As a result, today is your last working day.
We are grateful for your dedication, hard work, and the impact you have made during your time with us.
After signing your termination paperwork, you will be eligible to receive a severance package subject to the terms and conditions of the severance plan. You will receive an email from DocuSign to your Oracle email address with details on your severance and termination date.

The company has cited changing business needs as the primary driver for these “difficult decisions,” which established “role elimination” as a strategic business requirement that does not relate to employee performance.
The severance packages and IT deactivation process started immediately after the affected individuals received their emails. Oracle’s security procedure requires immediate revocation of all employee access to company documents and email messages and physical devices to protect its confidential information.
The company uses digital signature platforms to handle termination documents because employees must disclose their personal information for future contact. The company offers severance benefits to employees who sign legal documents, but the immediate system access loss has created confusion about their upcoming career transition steps.
