
AIIMS INI-SS 2026
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has announced the opening of registration for the Institute of National Importance Super Speciality (INI-SS) in July 2026.
The entrance exam is for admission to super speciality courses like Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) at some leading institutes.
Qualified candidates can apply online on the official website aiimsexams.ac.in. The registration period is open till April 13, 2026.
The INI-SS July 2026 entrance test will take place on April 25, 2026. The candidate will have to appear for the computer-based test at some of the institute’s centres across India.
From April 15, 2026, on, applicants can check the status of their application, whether it is pending for any discrepancy or has been rejected, from the official website.
The INI-SS July 2026 exam is for candidates who wish to pursue super-speciality courses like DM, MCh at some top institutes. AIIMS and Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, popularly known as PGIMER. These are some of the institutes where these courses are offered.
Candidates should check all the eligibility criteria (qualifications, internship, etc.) before applying.
The INI-SS July 2026 selection process follows a two-stage selection process
Stage I – CBT – An Objective type question based computer based test from the relevant subjects.
Stage II – Dept. Assessment – Done by institutes like AIIMS and PGIMER for the selected candidates.
This two-stage selection process ensures that candidates are evaluated on both their test scores and departmental assessment.
Those candidates who wish to apply for the INI-SS July 2026 session will need to pay an application fee of Rs 4,000, excluding transaction charges.
However, candidates who belong to the PwBD category will not need to pay any application fee. According to the marking scheme, the candidates will be awarded one mark for every correct answer and one-third of a mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Candidates will need to obtain at least 50 percent marks in Stage I to move to the next stage.
