The Union Public Service Commission will soon release the UPSC CDS 1 admit cards 2026 on its website. Candidates who have applied for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (I) 2026 should frequently check upsc.gov.in for any further information.

The CDS 1 2026 exam will be held on April 12, 2026. The hall tickets would be released one week before the exam dates, around the first week of April.

The UPSC CDS 1 admit card 2026 will be available in the first week of April. Though the commission has yet to announce the exact date, based on previous trends, the hall ticket will be released about 10–15 days before the exam. The admit card can be downloaded only online. 

How to download UPSC CDS 1 admit card 2026

Candidates can download the CDS 1 admit card by following these steps:

  • Go to the official UPSC website upsc.gov.in 
  • Click on the admit card link under What’s New
  • Select either registration ID or roll number login
  • Enter date of birth and other details
  • Submit and view the admit card
  • Download and print a copy for the exam day 

Candidates should verify that all the details mentioned on the admit card are correct.

What details are mentioned on the CDS 1 admit card 2026

The admit card will contain the following important details: Candidate’s name and photograph, Roll number and registration details, Exam date and reporting time, Address of the examination centre, and Important exam day instructions.

Candidates should bring a printed copy of their admit card and a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

What is the UPSC CDS 1 exam date and schedule 2026

The CDS 1 2026 exam will be conducted on 12th April in three shifts as: Shift 1 – English: 9.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m., Shift 1 – General Knowledge: 12.30 p.m to 2.30 p.m, Shift 1 – Mathematics: 4.00 p.m to 6.00 p.m

The duration of each paper will be two hours, and the exam will be objective in nature. 

How many vacancies are announced in CDS 1 2026

The CDS 1 2026 exam is being conducted to fill a total of 451 vacancies in various defence academies, namely, the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA). This is one of the most popular defence entrance exams in the country.

What is the selection process for CDS 1 2026

The CDS 1 2026 selection process will be as follows: Written exam, SSB interview, and Medical examination. Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for the SSB interview.

When will the CDS 1 result 2026 be declared

The CDS 1 2026 result will be released in April/May after completion of the exam. Candidates can check the results on the UPSC website.

Since the exam date is fast approaching, candidates are advised to download the admit card as soon as it becomes available and must go through all the information mentioned in the admit card carefully to avoid any confusion while appearing for the exam.
