The wait is finally over for anime fans as Classroom of the Elite Season 4 premieres today with an explosive 90-minute special episode. Marking the beginning of the highly anticipated Year 2 arc, the psychological thriller returns with a масштабive debut that promises higher stakes, deeper mysteries, and intense mind games.
Breaking away from its traditional format, Classroom of the Elite Season 4 kicks off with a feature-length 90-minute episode effectively compressing four standard episodes into one continuous broadcast. This unprecedented move by the creators sets a fast-paced tone for the new season, offering fans an immersive and gripping start to Ayanokouji’s next chapter.
Picking up directly after Season 3’s dramatic finale, the story follows Kiyotaka Ayanokouji and his classmates as they step into their second year at the Advanced Nurturing High School. However, the calm is short-lived.
A new batch of first-year students arrives, bringing with them hidden agendas and dangerous rivalries. Among them is a mysterious student with alleged ties to the infamous White Room—the secretive institution that shaped Ayanokouji’s past. As tensions rise, Ayanokouji must identify and neutralise this threat while ensuring his class survives a critical exam that could lead to expulsion.
Season 4 sees Noriyuki Nomata stepping in as director for the first time in the franchise, alongside animation by Studio Lerche. With character design by Maki Kono, the production team has reportedly invested heavily in delivering a visually and narratively powerful opening.
The season will run for 16 episodes, with music also playing a key role. The opening theme “MONSTER” by Eir Aoi and ending theme “Liar Veil” by ZAQ add to the intense atmosphere of the series.
Fans can stream Classroom of the Elite Season 4 exclusively on Crunchyroll. The platform is simulcasting episodes globally, including in India, as they air in Japan eliminating delays for international audiences.
Additionally, Crunchyroll has confirmed that a full English dubbed version is in production, which will roll out alongside the subbed episodes during the season.
Over the past three seasons, Classroom of the Elite has carved a niche as one of anime’s most compelling psychological dramas. The character of Ayanokouji calm, calculating, and deeply enigmatic has kept viewers hooked, with his true abilities and past still shrouded in mystery.
The Year 2 arc is expected to delve deeper into the secrets of the White Room while introducing formidable new adversaries. With a high-stakes premise, upgraded production, and a bold 90-minute premiere, the new season signals a major turning point for the series.
As the story unfolds, one question remains: Will this extended premiere truly change everything for Ayanokouji?
