The Ranveer Singh starrer has shattered several box office records, inching closer to the Rs 1500-crore mark in just 15 days. Amid the film’s increasing popularity, it was Madhavan who quietly hit a theatre incognito to watch the blockbuster movie with fans in Mumbai.
R Madhavan Goes Incognito To Watch Dhurandhar
In a recent instance, R Madhavan blended in with people inside an auditorium and casually watched his own film like any other viewer. The unexpected moment was shared by film exhibitor Akkshay Rathie on his Instagram Story. He appeared relaxed as he observed audience’s reactions as they watch him on the big screen.
Alongside the picture, Akshaye noted, “ISI can make whatever plans they want to. Just let them know, Ajay Sanyal has his eyes on them all the time! Such a fun time catching.”

Later, he shared a photo with the Dhurandhar actor on his Instagram handle and talked about his experience of catching the film alongside Madhavan. Madhavan portrayed the role of Intelligence Bureau Director, Ajay Sanyal, in the Dhurandhar franchise. The first installment of the spy-action thriller, Dhurandhar, released in December 2025. It minted more than Rs 1300 crore worldwide. Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the flick also features Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.
The prequel to Dhurandhar 2 starred Akshay Khanna as Rehman Dakait. The story follows an Indian intelligence undercover agent Hamza played by Ranveer Singh. He navigates Karachi’s crime networks, political landscape and seeks justice linked to the 26/11 attacks.
