On August 17, 2025, Rashmika and Vijay were the Grand Marshals for New York City’s India Day Parade. The two rocked the parade. Social media erupted through clips capturing Vijay’s affectionate act of placing his hand on Ras’ska’s shoulder, with one fan tweeting, “A simple hand-hold, and I’m grinning like an idiot!”
This was not it, the couple has fans in chokehold, as they attended the event of Bharat Beyond Borders. The viral clips and Rashmika’s loving gaze are stealing hearts. The way the couple was glancing at each other was more than an official dating announcement. Rashmika was dressed in a beautiful yellow saree, while Vijay complimented her rumoured beau in a brown coat and trousers.
Their natural chemistry and public display of affection hinted at dating, the rumours of which have been raging ever since their collaborations for the big screen in Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019).
This is not the first time, their dating speculations have a long history of secret lunch dates and vacations together. In November 2024, Rashmika teased marriage plans at a Pushpa 2 event, and when asked if she will marry someone from the film industry, she replied, “Everyone knows about it.”
