IAS Reshuffle: What Do Tina Dabi’s Transfer To Tonk, And Ria Dabi’s New Role In The CM’s Office Signal About Rajasthan’s Bureaucratic Setup? (Via X)
In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Rajasthan government has transferred 65 IAS officers across the state, with the changes drawing attention to several key postings, including those of sisters Tina Dabi and Ria Dabi.
Tina Dabi, who was serving as the District Collector of Barmer, has now been moved to Tonk. During her time in Barmer, a sensitive border district, she was noted for her firm administrative approach and efforts at strengthening grassroots governance.
Her transfer to Tonk, a district often seen as politically important and where Sachin Pilot holds considerable influence, has sparked discussion about the timing and intent behind the move. While the government has described it as part of a routine reshuffle, some observers believe the posting could carry both administrative and political significance, given Tonk’s social and political landscape.
Ria Dabi has been appointed as Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, one of the most important administrative positions in the state. The role involves close coordination with senior leadership, monitoring policy decisions, and ensuring smooth execution across departments.
Her appointment is being seen as a sign of confidence from the state leadership, as the CM’s Office plays a central role in shaping and implementing government policies. The posting places her at the heart of the state’s decision-making process.
Along with these high-profile transfers, several other officers have been given new responsibilities. Jitendra Soni has been made Director of Information and Public Relations, while Sandesh Nayak has been appointed as the new Collector of Jaipur.
Other notable postings include Gaurav Agrawal in Udaipur, Nishant Jain in Bikaner, Akshay Godara in Karauli, and Alok Ranjan in Jodhpur. In addition, Anupama Jorwal has been posted in Jaisalmer, Chinmayi Gopal in Barmer, Shubham Chaudhary in Pratapgarh, and Ashish Modi in Sikar.
Further changes include Ankit Kumar Singh taking charge in Phalodi and Bal Mukund Asawa being posted in Baran. The reshuffle is being viewed as a broad administrative exercise aimed at reorganising key responsibilities across the state.
